This quality MVHR system has some unique features that so far no other system can offer.
It is Passive House certified and suitable for medium to larger houses, whether Passive or not.
Due to the size of the unit and its components it needs a seizable plant room or utility room.
The technology behind room-by-room control is based on variable flow dampers (VarioBreeze) that connect to all the radial 90mm supply and extract ducts. They are installed close to the supply and extract air manifolds and all connect with a BUS system to the MVHR unit, which controls the air flow for every room.
It is a truely demand controlled MVHR, which reacts to the CO2 levels and temperatures of each habitable room.
Full demand control system with CO2 and temperature sensors sensors in all habitable rooms, in form of Alpha controllers.
It notices the trend of the the air quality changes and can thus prevent poor air quality, rather than react to it.
One of the unique features of the Futura L is active humidity control through the reversable airflow in the heat exchanger.
This can also be used for additional adiabatic cooling.
As an optional extra, Jablotron has a fully integrated heat pump solution for active cooling and a bit of heating, called CoolBreeze. It consists of a small reversible outdoor Air Source Heat Pump and an indoor heat exchanger.
The CoolBreeze has some unique features:
MVHR systems are as much about your health & wellbeing than they are about sustainability and energy savings.
We have seen how much a difference good filtered air and reduced humidity levels can make to occupants with certain health challenges, such as asthma, COPD, allergies, hay fever. It’s the long-term conditions in which we live that affect us most. Healthy fresh air, like healthy food and drink is important to maintain your health.
Such benefits only derive from MVHR system with F7 pollen filter (ISO ePM1 65%). Standard G3 (ISO ePM coarse) will not make much of a difference.
If you are affected by traffic fumes or fumes from neighbour’s wood stove, the active charcoal filter option for the Futura L will make a difference.
The system gives you amazing controllbility in an easy way via the Jablotron app.
It also has an online platform for adjusting settings, remote-analysis and even remote commissioning (believe it or not, you can actually commission a system from your office). It combines demand control with a full indoor climate monitoring platform.
The Futura, with its unique control opens up the possibility to remote-commission MVHR systems, after all the system has been fully installed and inspected.
Please note, that the manufacturer has stipulated that only installers, that have been trained on the system can install the Futura MVHR. The reason for this is that the specification of the duct design is different, especially when the CoolBreeze is incoporated.

Without exageration, we are excited about this MVHR unit, as it accomplishes, what any ventilation should do: regulate the air flow for each room according to their demand, thus preventing poor indoor air quality and steaming up of wet rooms. Also the way cooling is combined with MVHR it just amazing. Although this MVHR system is probably not becoming main stream, we see a fast growing demand for this system.
The only downside is that it is more complicated to open up the unit for in-depth maintenance. However, Jablotron have made their system maintenance friendly, e.g. by exchanging the fan bearings for long-life bearings before the fans go into production. Also, the F7 filter on the air extract helps to reduce professional maintenance intervals greatly.

The CoolBreeze is an outdoor air source heat pump that joins up with the Jablotron Futura L MVHR unit for cooling and heating. It is a full system approach, rather than a bolt on.
Combining an MVHR system with active heating or cooling is possible, but limited in its potential. We have been involved in many such projects and learned how to get it right.
