The Next Generation

of domestic ventilation systems
with room-by-room control

Big Magic Room-by-Room MVHR

Invented by the masterminds behind the Futura MVHR, this all-singing-all-dancing MVHR system by A1 Magic is probably the most advanced domestic ventilation system on the market.

Next Generation MVHR

The new generation of room-by-room ventilation control is ideally suited for medium to larger homes.

These are the Unique key features:

  • Powerful residential ventilation (14 – 125 l/s | 50 – 450 m3/h)
  • Automated room-by-room control
  • Modulated humidity recovery (HRV/ERV)
  • Integrated high power heating & cooling
  • In-built home automation system

Zone Magic Room-by-Room Control

Relax, the Big Magic knows where to send the fresh air – it follows you around the house.

  • The fresh air to each room is optimised …whilst the energy use and noise is minimised.
  • Innovative volume control dampers control the airflow for each leg of the 90mm radial ducting system.
  • The adjustment follows a clever algorythm that senses the trend of the CO2 change, thus preventing poor air quality, rather than reacting to it.
  • For the wet rooms, at the push of a button, super boost extraction is activated, which is far beyond normal extract rates.

Flexible Humidity Control

Excellent climate with optimised humidity levels.

Extracting exess humidity and passive de-humidification is an important feature of MVRH systems. However, in some cases this effect can be too powerful and cause uncomfotably low humidity levels. This is especially the case in larger dwellings with few occupants.

PAUL has invented the Polymer membrane core that can recover humidity (ERV). Unfortunately this core has a slightly lesser heat recovery than the HRV cores. Also, in several cases a modulated apprach is more beneficial than the choice between HRV and ERV.

The Big Magic achieves its humidity recovery in an innovative way, by reversing the airflow through the heat exchanger, thus picking up condensate water. It’s humidity recovery rate is up to 70% with no degrading of its heat recovery rate.

Big Magic with Cooling

Cool Magic: Integrated High Power Heating & Cooling

As option, the Big Magic MVHR comes with an integrated Cool Magic heating and cooling module. This connects to an external reversable Air Source Heat Pump.

The unique cooling control will direct the cold air only into those rooms which are in danger of overheating, rather than blanketing the house with cooled air. Thus the cooling effect is maximised through the Zone Magic valves.

On top of this the modulated humidity recovery will enable adiabatic cooling, which increases its cooling effect of the heat pump. It also de-humidifies the cooled air into the house, thus providing the most comfortable indoor climate in summer.

  • Cooling output up to 5.78kW
  • Heating output up to 4.52kW

Please be aware that for any MVHR cooling to operate effectively, excessive solar gains should be avoided, e.g. through shading.

Full Control

Whether you want to fully automate your system or use it as your home control system, the Big Magic is fully equipped for your choice of control.

  • Heating and cooling control
  • Ventilation control
  • Blinds control
  • Lights control

It comes with sleek controllers for each habitable room, with integrated CO2 and temperature sensors. For wet rooms and the kitchen a boost switch will enable manual control over the supper boost function. We believe that this is the best approach, compared to light switch integration or humidity sensors.

Big Magic Filtration

Best Filtration

Protection from all kind of nasties:

The Big Magic has F7 pollen filters (ISO ePM1 65%) as standard. These filter down to 1 micron size of particles.

On top of this an active charcoal filter can be added on the air intake slot, to eliminate traffic and combustion fumes.

If you are affected by traffic fumes or fumes from neighbour’s wood stove, the active charcoal filter option for the Big magic will make a difference.

Fresh filtered air in your home can have a noticeable effect on your health and wellbeing.

Installer training

For any MVHR installers, who wish to become PAUL Partners in installing the Big Magic MVHR, we offer an online Training Day on Friday 12th December 9:00-12:00.

Big Magic Training Day

honest opinion

Without exageration, we are excited about this MVHR unit, as it accomplishes, what any ventilation should do: regulate the air flow for each room according to their demand, thus preventing poor indoor air quality and steaming up of wet rooms. Also the way cooling is combined with MVHR is just amazing.

Although this is a new development of an innovative MVHR system, as do know and trust the developers, who have had extensive experience with developing a similar system in the past.     Stefan Huber, MD
