PAUL Ventilation Services Ltd
PAUL Heat Recovery’s sister company PAUL Ventilation Services Ltd specializes on the maintenance of MVHR systems in Scotland and Northern England.
MVHR systems need some attention on a regular basis to get filters checked and changed. Most of it is fairly simple housekeeping, but we recommend to get the system serviced by a professional at least every 5 years. We offer a professional MVHR maintenance service through our sister company PAUL Ventilation Services.
What type of MVHR systems do we service?
We service all PAUL, Zehnder, Greenwood and BluMartin MVHR systems. If you want to discuss the servicing of any other type of system, please do contact us.
Filter changes:
Paul and Zehnder filter are available as pollen filter (F7) or dust filter (G4). We recommend to use following configuration:
– F7 (ISO ePM 1 >65%) filter, also called pollen filter for the air supply within the MVHR unit,
– G4 (ISO ePM coarse) dust filter for the air extract within the MVHR unit,
– Additional Carbon filters can be used in a filter box on the supply ducting system,
– Separate defrost pre-heaters should be protected with a G3 filter.
– Kitchens should have a grease filter (G3) in the terminal.
These filters need to be checked every 3-6 months and cleaned or changed when visibly stained.
At least once a year all filters should be changed over for new ones.
Maintenance:
It is recommended that MVHR systems are serviced yearly to make sure everything is clean and working as it should be.
The maintenance of the system is mostly low-tech house-keeping and can be done with your annual spring clean:
- Check for any error messages and faults.
- Open up and clean/clear and sanitise the inside of the unit
- Remove the heat exchanger and rinse under the shower with wash-up liquid. Do not scrub it or poke into it.
- Check and clean the fans/fan housing from any dust and debris.
- Change the filters in the MVHR unit and in extract terminals (kitchen).
- Check and clean all temperature, humidity & pressure sensors,
- Clear and clean all supply and extract valves around the property.
- Check for loose room terminals.
- Clear and clean all external terminals.
- Update firmware, if possible.
- Answer any questions and do a brief handover to the end-user
Please refer to the user manual for your MVHR unit for more information.
At least every 5 years the system should be serviced by an MVHR technician.
