Fire Rated Extract Valve 125mm

The Fire Rated Ceiling Air Valves are a cost effective alternative to air valves with fire dampers. They offer a 60 min. fire rated solution where air valves are to be installed in fire rated ceilings.

In a fire situation, the integral intumescent material rapidly expands to seal off the air valve and reinstate the fire resistance rating of the ceiling. This limits the risk of fire and heat spread throughout the building.

The Fire Rated Ceiling Air Valve is installed as normal with air flow through the air valve unaffected.

Simple installation:

• Cut plenum or ducting flush with the underside of the plasterboard.
• Insert mounting ring with ventilation mastic into a standard 125mm plenums or 125mm ducting.
• Then fix the mounting ring into the duct with self-tapping screws.
• Insert the air valve into the mounting ring and turn (right) slightly until valve is fully fixed.
• The valve can then be adjusted by opening or closing as usual as part of the commissioning process.
• The valve can be locked with the locking nut.
• Please note: The open gap of the valve should not exceed 12mm.
