Please note that the Compact P2 and S are currently not yet SAP tested.

All of these systems incorporate:

  • Heat recovery ventilation (MVHR)
  • Active heat recovery
  • Comfort heating & cooling
  • Sanitary domestic hot water

The AIR9 will additionally provide:

  • heating for underfloor heating or low temperature radiators.

Anti-Scald valve

If the requirement for hot water is considerable, we recommend that you install an actual anti-scald valve under the hot water tank so the temperature in the tank can increase to 90 °C.

Also, if the requirement for cooling is high, it is recommended that you install a scald protection device below the hot water tank. You can then set the max. temperature in the hot water tank between 60 °C and 80 °C.

In Scotland the anti-scald valve is mandatory.

AIR 9 ASHP Addition

The efficient AIR air to water heat pump supplies energy to heat the dwelling via an underfloor heating system or via low energy radiators.
The AIR air to water heat pump is connected up to the heating control system in the dwelling. The control system then signals when the dwelling requires heating. The signal typically comes from thermostats that are situated in the individual rooms and when they call for heating, the AIR air to water heat pump heats the dwelling.

NB: When the ventilation part of the unit is operating in cooling mode, it will cause the AIR air to water heat pump to stop, so they do not counteract each other.

If you still want underfloor heating in the bathroom, you can set the air to water heat pump to continue to operate. This causes the air to water heat pump to heat the dwelling when the thermoelectric actuators in the underfloor heating system call for heat, even when the ventilation part is in cooling mode.

Domestic Hot Water

The AIR air to water heat pump cannot heat the domestic hot water, but it can help the ventilation part of Compact P2 heat the domestic hot water if required.

If Compact P2 is equipped with a solar coil, you can connect the AIR air to water heat pump to the hot water tank in Compact P2. The heat pump can then help heat the domestic hot water.

If you purchase an additional 250 litre hot water tank (SHW), the AIR air to water heat pump can preheat the domestic hot water to a temperature of 45 °C before the water enters Compact P2 where it will get heated further.

Capacity of standard unit as a function of qv and Pt ext

SEL values according to EN 13141-7 are for standard units with ISO 16890 Coarse 75% (G4) filters and without heating element.

SEL values comprise the unit’s total power comsumption for both fans, excl. controls.

Temperature efficiency as a function of volume flow qv [m3/h] for unit with counterflow heat exchanger.

Temperature efficiency according to EN13141-7 (2°C / 20°C).

NB! The temperature efficiency, is for the heat exchanger only (without heat pump operation).

Heat output factor COP [-] supply air as a function of outdoor temperature t20 [°C] and volume flow qv [m3/h] in accordance with EN14511 at a room temperature t11 = 20°C

NB! COP according EN14511 is calculated for the heat pump and counter flow heat exchanger combined.

Heat output Qc [W] as a function of qv [m3/h] and outdoor air temperature t20 [°C]. In accordance with EN 14511, t11=20°C (extract air).

Heat output is the contribution to room heating added to the fresh air via Compact P2 to the supply air.

The ventilation loss is the heat output that is lost without heat recovery at the given volume flow air.

Cooling effect Q [kW] as a function of volume flow [m3/h] according to EN14511, extract air = 27 °C, outdoor air = 35°C.

The cooling effect is the contribution added to the fresh air via the Compact P2 to the supply air.

Energy efficiency ratio EER [-] for supply air as a function of volume flow [m3/h] acc. to EN 14511 at extract air temp. = 27 °C and outdoor air temp. = 35 °C.

NB! COP according to EN 14511 is calculated for the heat pump and counter flow heat exchanger combined.

Sounddata is for qv = 275 m3/h and Pt ext = 100 Pa in accordance with EN ISO 3744 for surface and EN 5136 for ducts.

Sound output level LWA drops with falling air volumes and falling back-pressure.

At a given distance, the sound pressure level LpA will depend on the acoustic conditions at the installation site.

Nilan SHW250

Additional Hot Water Cylinder

The Nilan SHW250 is a hot water cylinder, that can be used in combination with the Compact P2 AIR to achieve a total volume of 430 liters of hot water. The AIR heat pump is connected to the SHW tank and pre-heats the 250 liters in the tank to a temperature of 30 – 45 ºC. The water is carried from the SHW tank to the hot water tank in Compact P where the temperature is then increased up to 60 ºC.

The SHW hot water tank also has a supplementary coil to which you can connect up a solar collector of approx. 4 m2. This will allow an increase in temperature in the SHW tank to over 45 ºC.
