Ellora Coupe, founder of Her Retrofit Space, provides her views on MVHR and its benefits following visit to PAUL Heat Recovery

As a well-respected member of the home retrofit community, PAUL Heat Recovery were pleased to welcome Ellora Coupe, founder of Her Retrofit Space, to the Dunfermline facility. Ellora’s background is in the construction industry, specifically working with professional women and homeowners who were carrying out retrofit projects.

With the Government having many initiatives relating to retrofit in homes, it seemed like a much better approach when it comes to home renovation. With women growing more heavily involved in retrofit projects in homes, Ellora wanted to provide women with a platform that would build a community of homeowners wishing to share their own experiences and learn about others in order to make their own retrofit experiences more effortless.

MVHR is an extremely important part of home retrofit when it comes to focusing on indoor air quality and after initial discussions, PAUL Heat Recovery invited Ellora to visit the facility in Dunfermline and learn more about MVHR, how it works, how if should be properly specified, what’s important when selecting an MVHR and how it impacts health and wellbeing.

Ellora’s feedback was extremely valuable as she talked about how just being at the facility immediately improved some pressing health issues with congestion and an oncoming migraine. Ellora said: “I was on a long train journey and was on the verge of a typical migraine yet within only half hour of being in their office I noticed a real improvement and the shadow of a migraine I had been carrying all morning lifted. My sinus congestion caused by allergies cleared.  This was the point there was no doubt for me I was experiencing what properly filtered indoor air can do and it hit home how important it was for my wellbeing to ensure we factored MVHR into our homes for much more than just managing indoor air quality but for health.”

The team walked Ellora through the components of MVHR and why technical excellence and uncompromising attention to detail matters.  She learned about acoustic silencers that eliminate any audible noise and how careful design of ductwork that avoids sharp bends should actually be. “Another thing that stood out for me was how thoughtfully the system had been designed for long term used. Every component should be accessed, serviced or replaced if needed. Even knowing the ducting can be professionally cleaned is really paramount.”, said Ellora.

All in all, Ellora found the visit extremely beneficial and will support her messaging to the women homeowner community on the long-term health benefits and comfort and the standards PAUL Heat Recovery work towards to ensure the MVHR selection is the right fit for their homes.
