Zehnder ComfoAir Q is a very popular range of heat recovery ventilation units for those who want to use a high performing MVHR. It offers:

  • State of the art design and intelligent technology,
  • Suitable for standard builds or Passive House buildings,
  • For any size dwelling from flat to large mansion.
  • It combines high performance MVHR with user-friendly operation.
  • The commissioning wizard makes the installation of the system as easy as possible.
  • The system is designed to last and is maintenance-friendly, as all components are easily accessible and removable.
  • The system comes with a versatile and innovative control technology, that enables the end-user to have as little or as much interaction with the system as they wish.

Noise

Ultra Quiet

Fan noise is one of the biggest issues of ventilation systems, that can make or break the acceptance by the end-user.

Zehnder ComfoAir Q delivers ultra quiet noise levels to the home by managing airflow and lowering resistance – the innovative and patented airflow channels and grids allow air to move easily through the unit without noise. One of the comments at handover, that we often hear is “Is it working? I cannot hear it.”

8x ComfoAir Q units side by side would compare to the break out noise of ONE standard MVHR, like the ComfoAir 155 – at the same output level. That makes all the difference.

Health Benefits

MVHR systems are as much about your health & wellbeing than they are about sustainability and energy savings.

We have seen how much a difference good filtered air and reduced humidity levels can make to occupants with certain health challenges, such as asthma, COPD, allergies, hay fever. It’s the long-term conditions in which we live that affect us most. Healthy fresh air, like healthy food and drink is important to maintain your health.

Such benefits only derive from MVHR system with F7 pollen filter (ISO ePM1 65%). Standard G3 (ISO ePM coarse) will not make much of a difference.

If you are affected by traffic fumes or fumes from neighbour’s wood stove, the active charcoal filter option for the ComfoAir Q will make a difference.

Key Features of the ComfoAir Q

  • CA Q350: max 97l/s, Q450: 125l/s, Q600: 167 l/s
  • Best Appendix Q performance: up to 96% heat recovery rate with new type of heat exchanger
  • No dis-balancing and drop in performance over time, due to mass-flow constant operation
  • Automatic increase of ventilation with in-built humidity sensor (to be activated)
  • Best winter performance, due to in-built modulated defrost pre-heater (optional)
  • Gentle cooling with modulated summer bypass
  • App control (iOS or Android) with LAN controller
  • Filter warning (state of the filters and timed)
  • Option to recover moisture with ERV core
  • Pollen filter or active charcoal filter option

Control Options

The ComfoAir Q range has a variety of control options:

  • In-build controller
  • Simple wired three step controller
  • Wired LED controller (C67)
  • App control with iOS and Android app with LAN controller
  • Full automation with CO2 sensors and in-build humidity sensors.

Control Options Zehnder ComfoAir Q

The Zehnder ComfoConnect App Control

Then LAN controller is our recommended control device: It enables the connection between the MVHR and the ComfoControl app for iphone and android devices.

Key Benefits:

  • Control and monitor the ventilation system via the ComfoControl app
  • Control ventilation flow rate, temperature profile, temporary high speed setting and external sensor set points
  • Monitor ventilation flow rates, temperatures and external sensors
  • 7 day flow rate programmer
  • Access the ventilation system remotely from anywhere in the world (secure login)
  • Service and Maintenance alert direct to your phone
  • User menu access & installer menu access

Zehnder’s ComfoAir Q is one of the most versatile MVHR systems, which can be used from smaller 3-bedroom dwellings to larger mansions. We, and our customers like the system because it is well controlled with in-built humidity control and app control, it is very efficient and most importantly: it is extremely quiet, compared to other systems. The in-build defrost pre-heater, optional ERV core, and F7 pollen filters and optional active charcoal filters give it the competitive advantage.

Installers love the system, too, because of the commissioning wizard and easy access to all parts inside the unit.

The only wee downside is that the LAN controller for app control is not in-built, but a seperate item. Zehnder learnt from this with their new ComfoAir Flex unit, where they have integrated the LAN and Options Box into their system. The weakest points of the first units were their pressure sensors, but this issue has now been resolved.

Overall, we fine this is one of the best systems on the market.
